Minu

This is the agreement between you and Jheremiah Figueroa, who builds and runs Minu as an individual developer in the Philippines. Installing or using Minu means you accept it.
The most important clause is section 3: you are the one recording, and getting everyone's agreement is your responsibility. Minu is built to make that easy and to refuse to work without it, but it cannot be in the room with you.
Minu records meetings you are physically present at, transcribes them, and produces structured notes. It runs on your phone. Audio is sent to a third-party transcription service to be turned into text; the privacy policy lists every service involved.
Minu cannot record Zoom, Meet, Teams or any other app's audio. That is a platform limitation, not a feature that is coming.
You must be at least 18. Minu does not verify your age, and signing in with Apple or Google tells us nothing about it — that is a statement of what is expected, not a check that is performed.
Republic Act 4200 makes it a criminal offence to record a private conversation in the Philippines without the authorisation of everyone taking part — including when you are part of the conversation yourself (Ramirez v. Court of Appeals, G.R. 93833, 1995). The same section reaches possessing such a recording and furnishing transcriptions of it.
Minu is designed around that. It will not open the microphone until every person present has been listed and has agreed, and it asks each of them to say so aloud inside the recording. If anyone refuses, it deletes rather than stops.
But the app cannot see the room. So, plainly:
You agree not to use Minu to record anyone who has not genuinely agreed, to defeat or work around the consent flow, or for anything unlawful. If you do, this agreement ends and the consequences are yours.
Transcription and note-writing are done by machine-learning models. They misread accents, mishear names, and occasionally state something the meeting did not decide. Minu works hard against this — notes cite the second they came from, the raw transcript is always kept, and the app is built so you can check any line in one tap — but the checking is yours to do.
Do not rely on Minu's notes for anything consequential without checking them against the recording. They are a draft of what happened, not a record of it.
Prices may change. An existing subscription keeps its price until you cancel it, and any change is announced before it applies.
Your recordings, transcripts and notes are yours. Minu claims no ownership of them and no licence to use them beyond what is needed to provide the service — transcribing the audio, writing the notes, and storing the results if you switch backup on.
Your meetings are never used to train any model, sold, or shared with advertisers.
The app itself, its name, its design and its code remain mine.
Minu is provided as it is. It is run by one person, it depends on third-party services that can fail, and it comes with no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose beyond what the law requires and cannot be excluded.
It may change. Features may be added or removed. If something changes in a way that affects recordings you already have, the app will say so.
To the extent Philippine law allows, my liability to you for anything arising out of Minu is limited to what you have paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
This does not limit your liability to anyone else for a recording you made.
You can stop using Minu at any time — delete the app, and use Delete every meeting in Settings first if you want everything gone from the phone. Cancel the subscription separately in Apple or Google, since deleting an app does not cancel anything.
I may end this agreement if you use Minu to record people without their consent or otherwise break section 3.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If any part of this is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
Material changes are published here with a new effective date, and announced in the app before they apply. Continuing to use Minu after that means accepting them.
